"“From Curiosity to Change: My IGNOU Journey of Innovation and Impact”"
My academic journey with IGNOU has been deeply transformative, shaping both my intellectual pursuits and my entrepreneurial path. I chose to study Anthropology through IGNOU because of the flexibility it offered—allowing me to step beyond conventional classrooms and engage in field-based, ground-level research. This freedom proved pivotal, as it led me to identify a critical and pressing issue in India: manual scavenging and water pollution. Driven by this problem, I conceptualized and designed a solution named Chakravyuh, aimed at addressing these challenges through innovation and sustainable systems thinking. This work was recognized as a Runner-Up in the Best Innovation Award by IGNOU. In recognition of my work, commitment, and dedication towards creating social impact, I was also honoured as an Inspiring Student by AICTE. Building on this foundation, I conducted extensive research and further developed the concept into my academic dissertation under Anthropology, giving it a structured and research-backed framework. Today, Chakravyuh stands as the flagship innovation of my startup, PREserwe, where I serve as Managing Partner and Chief Innovation Officer. PREserwe is currently conducting pilot implementations and has been incubated at premier institutions such as IIIT Hyderabad and ISB Mohali, two of India’s leading innovation ecosystems. We have also built our own prototyping and manufacturing facility, enabling us to translate ideas into tangible solutions efficiently. Our work has gained recognition at both national and international levels. We have represented India three times globally—being a finalist at the prestigious iF Student Design Award 2024, a Global Quarter Finalist at the Global Student Entrepreneurship Award by Entrepreneurs’ Organization, and a winner of the Social Impact Award India, representing the country at the Social Impact Award Summit 2025 in Slovenia, Europe. Additionally, we are collaborating with multiple government bodies for pilot projects, with the United Nations serving as our impact partner. Currently, I am pursuing an MSc in Environmental Science from IGNOU, further strengthening my interdisciplinary approach to solving environmental challenges. Throughout my journey, the continuous support from IGNOU—especially from NCIDE—has been invaluable, from academic guidance to innovation support. My journey reflects the power of flexible education, resilience, and purpose-driven innovation in creating meaningful impact.
